Biofiltration is ideally useful and suited for the removal and degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from waste air. Most of them are odorous and more or less toxic compounds resulting from a wide range of manufacturing processes or from organic decomposition.
Important inorganic odorous and toxic sulphur and nitrogen compounds including H2S (Hydrogen sulfide), NH3 (Ammonia) and nitrogen oxides as well as methane can also be removed from waste air by biofiltration.

The Bioteg Modular Container Biofilter Systems consist of one to four double-walled filter containers to treat airflow rates in a range of 300 m³/h to 20.000 m³/h. The outer wall is made of steel with a treated and painted outer surface. The inner surfaces are coated with 4 mm heavy-duty polyethylene. For higher airflow rates, there are special tanks as biofilter containers. The plants of the series MCBF are of a rugged design and for an automatic operation mainly free of maintenance.
Typical applications: wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), landfills, composting facilities, food industry, chemical industry etc.

Mid-sized biofilters for pump stations or similar applications.
The Bioteg Circular Stand-Alone Biofilter with its compact design and long service life can be applied to solve a variety of different odour problems. Among our customers for the SRBF series are wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), landfills and sewage storage systems as well as the food and chemical industry. They are designed to treat airstreams from 20 to 500 m³/h. To adapt to higher airstreams (of up to 2000 m³/h, the Bioteg Circular Stand-Alone Biofilters can be run in a two to four filter network.
These filters can be used as inexpensive passive biofilters and are readily upgradable to active biofilters at any time by the addition of a cover and a fan. A controlled surface irrigation system is optional.
Depending on the environmental conditions, the biofilter material may last up to 7 years. The replacement of the filter material is an easy and inexpensive process. The used biofilter material can be readily composted.

The Bioteg Manhole Biofilter is a specially designed manhole insert to biologically remove odors and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from sewer manholes.
Each Bioteg Manhole Biofilter is custom-made for the customer’s manhole dimensions to guarantee a perfect fit into the manhole and prevent any odor off-gassing through unsealed cracks.
Odorous air from the sewer manhole will rise through the Manhole Biofilter where odor degrading microorganisms will remove H2S and other organic odors before they can reach the open air.
